So my poem is going pretty well. I'll post a draft of it here. Course it still needs some tinkering. But I'm really happy with its direction. title stolen from hamlet. wah. now i have to write a slant rhyme version.
trippingly on the tongue
in a gallery
where portraits are
hung
I level my pulse
to the frame of my tongue
one breath finds resign
to travel Monet’s horizon
line
train my words
to float ( surface )
loose and sad
like each impressionist lily pad
but I sink (like Ophelia)
past desire which
I hung
love spills into my left lung
